Kelly, you will love it again so much when you go back. Each and every time I go I appreciate it more and more. And I hear you; last time I was there I weighed 100 KG (or around 222 lbs). I remember being absolutely miserable in the heat (it was July, 5 years ago). I believe my brother (a VERY big fella, not only length, but also width) and I with our combined weights broke my dad's diving board at his pool. I never would have thought I would run *anywhere* in New Mexico, so this was a real treat for me.

too bad I didn't know about Casa de Benavidez... i'd have had some enchiladas for you ;-)

Thanks so much for sharing your adventure with us. I felt like I was able to take a mini break to Albuquerque just seeing the pictures. The environment is so different there and I'm really looking forward to a real vacation there when I can go for a run. The last time I was there, I was 277 pounds and winded just going up the stairs in my brother's house. Now I'm 224 and although the elevation will probably kick my ass, I doubt my brother's stairs will!

Speaking of New Mexican food....my favorite place is Casa de Benavidez - OMG weakness for sure with both red and green chile. YIKES...that's gonna be my biggest challenge when I do make it back.

Appreciate the pictures and LOVE the happy smiles of both you and Katie!

It's official. I'm famous! LOL Seriously, why do you have to be so awesome and then be a million miles away? I think we could get into a lot of trouble together! Very interesting, the differences in your relationships with your parents. Narcissistic is the way I would describe some of my family members-unaware of anyone but themselves.

Have you ever eaten at Sahara? Pretty much right across from UNM. It's a middle eastern food place and it's soooo good.

I laughed out loud at your description of that big meal and then you all stopped for frozen yogurt. I think that's a lovely way to do vacation. Not think about it and just enjoy. Because now that you're back home, you WANT to be back in your "normal" place of eating and moving. That's what I think it's all about. You've obviously gotten the hang of it all. I love that you can just step back into it...and you didn't beat yourself up over each and every day of your vacation!
